Willow Tree is a nice campground. The facilities are good, and the bathrooms were the nicest I have ever seen. However, it is somewhat barren in the landscaping department since it is so new. Also, there are other campgrounds closer to Grand Strand attractions and shopping. There is very little in Longs, SC. We camped here with our camping club, and I was very disappointed with the behavior of the staff and how they appeared to selectively enforce rules. Three of our campers were unable to get reservations at Willow Tree for the weekend because it was full (as there was another camping club holding a rally here in addition to ours). These members stayed at other locations near Willow Tree and came to the campground for meals and meetings with the club. They were charged a fee each time they entered the campground even though they were not using any of Willow Tree's amenities. Granted this is listed as one of their rules, but so was a rule about "no doubling up on sites"; and it appeared that there were several sites with more than one rig on them. Due to the fact that our club brought 15 rigs to Willow Tree, you would think that they would have allowed our members to participate in the club activities without charging them. We will not camp here again.

This campground is a diamond in the rough. It is not anything fancy, but the owners are very hospitable and helpful. Additionally, it is very family friendly. We camped here with our children, and they thoroughly enjoyed the playground and the gameroom. The accessibility of the sites was ok (most are back-in). They were very level but somewhat narrow. We were not very impressed with the view from our site which overlooked the creek. However, we can blame only ourselves for this since this was a last minute decision. Next time we will book earlier and request a riverfront site.

We loved this park. It is absolutely beautiful. Some of the sites are a little tricky, but we had a pull-through that was very level (#10). This is a state park, so the bath houses are a little dated, but they were clean. There is a lot to do in the park itself (boat rentals, fishing, and hiking) not to mention all the activities outside the park. The staff was very friendly and helpful as were the campground hosts. We have 2 young children, and the campground offered children's activities over the weekend. We will definitely return.

This is a COE campground; therefore it is well kept, and the sites are nice. The main issue we had with the campground is that the hosts tended to be a little overbearing. This is the first time I have camped at a public campground that did not provide access to the gate for afterhours for the campers. We camped here with our camping club and asked the hosts about letting in our members who were due to arrive shortly after 10pm (after the gate was closed), and they would not do it. Additionally, when we gathered for dinner Fri. night the campground hosts stopped and told us we had to move cars that did not belong on that site. The campground is on Lake Hartwell which is great if you are a water sports enthusiast. Other than that, there is not much to do here. I doubt we will camp here again due to the fact that it is not an easy drive from our home.

We have camped here several times and enjoyed ourselves each time. It is a nice park with nice sites. Most are level; all are waterfront; and they all have picnic tables and fire rings. This park is great if you have a watercraft. About the only negative is that some of the sites are a good ways from the bath houses so be sure to check this out when reserving a site unless you like to walk.
